More than 600,000 euro in notes seized in Garda raids

More than 600,000 euro has been seized by gardai in Dublin.

The Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau carried out searches at a business in Dublin city centre and a second in the north of the capital on Friday.

The raids were part of ongoing investigations targeting organised crime activity under Operation Tara.

Along with the 600,000 euro in cash, gardai recovered digital devices that they described as being of evidential value.

Three men, one aged in his 30s and two in their 40s, were detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at garda stations in Dublin.

Assistant Commissioner Angela Willis, who is in charge of policing organised and serious crime hailed the discovery.

“This significant seizure of cash is further evidence of our ongoing collaboration with international partners and targeting of the facilitators and enablers who launder the vast sums of cash generated from casual drug use,” she said.

“The Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau alone has seized in excess of three million euro in cash during 2025, and continues to disrupt and dismantle identified national priority high-risk criminal networks, in our efforts to make our communities safer.”
