A boy is in a critical condition in hospital after a crash in Co Louth at the weekend.
A woman, a man and a teenage girl were also injured in the two-car crash on the R132 at Dowdallshill in Dundalk at around 8.10pm on Saturday.
The driver of one car, a woman aged in her late 20s, was removed from the scene to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, with non-life-threatening injuries.
A passenger in that car, an infant boy, was removed to Temple Street Children’s Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The driver of the second vehicle, a man aged in his early 50s, and a teenage girl who was a passenger in the car, were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A technical examination of the scene was conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
An appeal for witnesses to come forward is being made, particularly those who were near the scene around the time of the incident, and those who may have camera footage.
