A 56 year old man who stole over €200 worth of items from a Tesco store appeared before Naas District Court.

Paul Corcoran, whose address was given as 21 Colepark Drive, Ballyfermot, Dublin 10, was prosecuted for stealing €231 worth of groceries at the Tesco Extra store at Monread Road, Naas, on January 15, 2018.

Sgt Brian Jacob told the court the defendant had 14 previous convictions, including seven for theft and one for a public order matter.

Barrister Aisling Murphy observed that the case was five years old and at that time the defendant “was in a difficult stage of his life.”

She added that he is getting counselling.

Judge Desmond Zaidan applied the Probation Act, which means no conviction is recorded against the defendant.
