Kildare recorded a dramatic one point win over Clare at Ennis this afternoon, scoring the last four points of the game from the 71 to 75 minute recording their first win in the AFL Division 2 campaign. It was a win that certainly did not look on the cards for long periods and especially when reduced to 14 on the 50 minute, Ben McCormack picking up a second yellow.
Having led at the break 0-011 to 0-7 Clare looked on their way when leading 0-14 to 0-9 on the 48 minute.
The introduction of Neil Flynn Danial Flynn made a huge difference when they were introduced but few could have envisaged that final seven minutes when points from David Hyland, Neil Flynn (free), Dan Flynn and the winner from Neil Flynn, a free, as Kildare made it by a single point, 0-16 to 0-15.
