A man charged in connection with an incident during which a garda was allegedly dragged along the road by a car has had his case sent forward for trial.
Naas District Court was told on an earlier date that George Richard Asimionesei, 22, whose address was given as 1 Barrack Court, Rathcoole, but who is currently remanded in custody, faces allegations of dangerous driving, driving without insurance and no driving licence on August 26, 2022, at Barberstown, near Straffan.
The garda in question allegedly sustained serious head injuries after he attempted to talk to Mr Asimionesei.
After a book of evidence was served on the accused, Judge Desmond Zaidan sent his case forward to the next sittings of Naas Circuit Criminal Court, which will commence on June 20.
