Damian Szatowski, with an address listed as 8 Ashfield in Suncroft, County Kildare, but who is currently remanded in custody, was brought before Judge Desmond Zaidan by gardaí on the date in question.

Gardaí alleged that Mr Szatowski was accused of drug offences dating back to 2021 (two alleged offences under Section 3 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977, and three alleged offences under Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977).

The first allegation relates to an incident on February 19, 2021, in which gardaí accused Mr Szatowski of being in possession of €15 of Flurazepam, €900 worth of amphetamines, €860 worth of MDMA.

The second allegation relates to an incident on April 17, 2021, gardaí alleged that he was accused of possessing cannabis worth €70 and €400 worth of amphetamines.

It was heard that gardaí served five different charge sheets on the accused in relation to these alleged offences.

When asked if he wished to comment on the first charge sheet, Mr Szatowski told gardaí: "It (the drugs) was for personal use.”

He repeated this response when presented with the second charge sheet.

For the third charge, he replied: "I never had MDMA in my possession, never ever."

For the fourth charge, Mr Szatowski said: "I was using medication."

For the fifth and final charge, Mr Szatowski said: "It was for personal use."

Judge Zaidan adjourned the case involving the drugs allegations to November 2 for hearing on all matters.
