Kildare County Council (KCC) has announced that a temporary closure will be implemented at Canal View in Sallins.
This closure is being implemented in order to facilitate the construction of the Grand Canal Greenway Pedestrian Bridge.
KCC, on behalf of John Cradock Ltd, gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994 that it will close the road on Friday, August 25, 2023 to Friday, September 1, 2023.
Specifically, the closure at Canal View will be closed from Chapel Lane to Sherlockstown Cross.
The duration of the closure at any one time will be in effect from 8pm to 6am.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE
A diversion route shall be provided from Sallins via the R407 to the junction with the L1210 at Castlesize Green, then via the L1210, passing Bodenstown Graveyard and ending at Sherlockstown Cross.
KCC said: "Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána.
"Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained," KCC added.
