Kildare County Council (KCC) has announced a temporary road closure for six days.

According to KCC, it gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994, on behalf of Actavo, that it will close the following road from Tuesday, 24 October 24, 2023: the L1014 Collinstown, from the L1015 to the R148.

Duration of the closure is for six days; however, KCC said that the road will be open to accommodate commuting traffic between 5am and 10am each morning of the road closure.

KCC said that the purpose of the closure is to facilitate the installation of ducting for National Broadband Ireland.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES:

Traffic intending to travel Southbound on the L1014 will be directed West along the L1014, West along the R157 around Carton Estate and then East along the R148.

Traffic intending to travel Northbound on the L1014 will be directed to follow the reverse of the above directions.

KCC further said: "Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána.

"Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained."
