UPDATE: Kildare town man allegedly found with €1,160 by gardaí sent forward for trial

The case was heard at Naas District Court.

A Kildare town man accused of possessing money that is the suspected proceeds of criminal conduct has had his case sent forward for trial.

Naas District Court was previously told about the allegations on November 23 last.

Specifically, gardaí allege that the offence relates to Eoin Poole, with an address listed as 1846 Lourdesville in Kildare town, and that on February 20 last, the 30-year-old was spotted 'acting in a suspicious manner' by gardaí on patrol at Eyre Street in Newbridge.

They claim that when they stopped and searched Mr Poole, they allegedly found €1,186 in cash on his person.

Gardaí added that as a result, the accused was arrested and later brought to Newbridge Garda Station.

On the latest court date (Thursday, January 5 last), a book of evidence was served by gardaí in relation to the case against Mr Poole.

Following this, Judge Zaidan sent his case forward for trial to the next sittings of Naas Circuit Criminal Court, which will commence on January 16.

He remanded Mr Poole on continuing bail until this date.
