Two defeats on the trot for Kildare as The Lilies went down to Fermanagh in Brewster Park this evening on a final score line of Fermanagh 2-10 Kildare 0-12.

And Kildare can have no excuses. They played second fiddle throughout the entire game; unable to match the pace and power of Fermanagh, in a somewhat familiar performance that we saw last week against Cavan.

Even allowing for missing players this result puts Kildare into big trouble and with Armagh next up in two weeks time, unfortunately Glenn Ryan's side will be eying the wrong end of the table.

Fermanagh led at the break 1-7 to 0-4, the goal coming from a rare Mark Donnellan blunder, when he failed to control a high bacll that fell from his grasp and over the line.

Kildare's four points in the opening half all came from frees.

There was some improvement from the visitors in the second half, that said Fermanagh were never under any real pressure and while the lead was cut back to three points on 60 minutes that was as close as they came with Fermanagh cutting through the Kidare for a Sean Cassidy goal to wrap it up.

A sign of Kildare's bad luck raised its head at the end when Kevin Feely after being awarded a penalty for a foot block then saw his spot kick well saved by stand-in keeper Ross Bogue.
