A Naas District Court defendant was allegedly linked to a burglary via a sample of his blood.
The accusation was made by gardaí who appeared before Judge Desmond Zaidan in the court on Thursday, February 15 last.
Gardaí claim that David McKenna, of 4 Earlsfort Road in Lucan, County Dublin, but who is currently remanded in custody, committed the offence at Kildare town Community School, which is located on the Dunmurray Road, on May 17, 2017.
It was alleged that the 29-year-old accused 'ransacked' offices in the school during the course of the alleged offence.
Mr McKenna's defending barrister, Donncha Craddock, told the judge that his client is currently serving a six-month sentence for a separate matters, and is due for release at the end of March.
Judge Zaidan accepted jurisdiction over the case and adjourned it to March 14 for election.
