An Garda Síochána in County Kildare are investigating a theft from a car in Athy, as well as an incident of criminal damage also committed in Athy.

When asked about the first incident by the Leinster Leader, a garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí received a report of an incident of theft from a motor vehicle that occurred at approximately 3.15am on February 24, 2024 in the Shanrath area of Athy, County Kildare.

"No arrests have been made.

"Investigations are ongoing."

Regarding the second incident, the same spokesperson had this to say: "Gardaí also received a report of an incident of criminal damage that occurred at approximately 6pm on February 25, 2024 in the St Dominic’s Park area of Athy, County Kildare.

"No arrests have been made."

"Investigations are ongoing," the spokesperson concluded.
