A County Kildare resident appeared before Naas District Court on Thursday, March 7 last.

Damian Szatowski, with an address listed as Ashfield, Suncroft in County Kildare, but who is currently remanded in custody, was charged with road traffic and drug offences.

Gardaí told Judge Desmond Zaidan that on November 19, 2022, the 37-year-old was caught with an estimated €890 of suspected cannabis for the purpose of sale or supply at Suncroft.

This alleged offence would be in contravention of Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977.

His defending solicitor, David Powderly, told the court that Mr Szatowski pleaded guilty to the Section 15 allegation.

Mr Szatowski also faces a separate allegation of driving with no licence and no insurance on Eyre Street in Newbridge.

Gardaí alleged this offence took place on January 29, 2023.

Judge Zaidan accepted jurisdiction over the two cases and adjourned them to July 18 for hearing on all matters.

He also made a disclosure order for the defence.
