Two men stand accused of threatening a woman and her dogs, and one of them also stands accused of attempting to run her over.
That’s according to gardaí who were present at Naas District Court on Thursday, March 14 last.
Gardaí told Judge Desmond Zaidan that on September 24 last, at Monread South in Naas, a woman was out walking alongside her two dogs.
She allegedly encountered Paddy Connors, of 37 Hawkfield in Newbridge, and Patrick Berry, 23, of 2 The Laurels, Bluebell, County Dublin (Paddy Connors has no listed date of birth listed on court documents).
The woman was allegedly told by the two men to put her dog on a leash, or they would run both her and her dogs over with their car.
It was then claimed that the men attempted to reverse over the woman, and she’had to 'jump out of the way', according to gardaí (Mr Berry is charged with this alleged dangerous driving offence, as gardaí believe he was the driver of the car).
Gardaí also allege that the men told her that they would find out where she lives.
Mr Connors submitted a plea of not-guilty and bail was agreed for him under a number of strict conditions.
His case has been adjourned to May 2, which is when a book of evidence is due to be presented by gardaí.
Mr Berry’s case was adjourned to the same date, which is when he is to indicate his plea to the court.
He was also granted bail under similar strict conditions.
