A 63-year-old woman who was driving under the influence of cocaine crashed into bollards at the Kildare Village Retail Outlet.

Gardaí present in Naas District Court on Thursday, March 14 last told Judge Desmond Zaidan about the incident.

Carol Casey, with an address listed as 11 Danesfort, Corbally, County Limerick, committed the offences (drug-driving and dangerous driving) at Kildare Village back on November 22, 2021.

She was convicted by Judge Zaidan in her absence.

The judge was told by gardaí that Ms Casey has 49 previous convictions, all for theft-related matters.

After consideration, Judge Desmond Zaidan decided to fine Ms Casey €500 for both offences, meaning that she will have to pay €1,000 in total.

The judge gave Ms Casey three months to pay these fines, and also disqualified her from driving for four years.
