A sum of cash was also taken from the man's property.
A man aged in his sixties was attacked by four other males during an incident which took place near Castledermot earlier this week.
Commenting on the matter was Detective Garda Shona Nolan, who discussed the incident with KFM.
She said that on Monday, May 27 last, a man residing between Maganey and Castledermot was approached by four other males, who proceeded to assault him.
"He sustained a number of injuries to his face," Det Gda Nolan said: "He had some items stolen from his caravan."
She concluded by urging anyone with information can contact Castledermot Garda Station on 059 914 4112 or Athy Garda Station on 059 863 4210.
When asked about the incident by the Leinster Leader, a garda spokesperson had this to say: "Gardaí are investigating an assault that occurred in Maganey, County Kildare in the early hours of Monday morning, May 27, 2024.
"A male (aged in his 60s) was injured during the course of the incident; his injuries are understood to be non-life threatening."
The spokesperson added: "Investigations are ongoing at this time."
