The Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) fast-food restaurant in Newbridge was the target of a burglary yesterday, according to An Garda Síochána.
The incident was discussed by Garda Jonathan Ryan when he appeared on KFM this morning.
He said that the burglary occurred on the grounds of KFC at around 4am on Tuesday, June 25 last.
Gda Ryan said that the incident involved a nuber of youths, who were spotted in the drive-thru area.
"Some damage was done to the premises and some items were stolen," he added.
Gda Ryan concluded by saying that gardaí are currently reviewing CCTV in relation to the incident.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident, a spokesperson for AGS said: "Gardaí are investigating a burglary which occurred at a business premises in Newbridge, County Kildare in the early hours of Tuesday, June 25, 2024."
"Investigations are ongoing," the spokesperson added.
