Planning permission sought for brand-new ‘warehousing / industrial / logistics building’ between Naas and Newbridge

If approved, the development would be constructed at Site 34, Rowan Tree Road & Elm Road, Momentum Logistics Park, Ladytown, Naas, County Kildare.

Planning permission has been sought for a brand-new 'warehousing / industrial / logistics building' to be situated between Naas and Newbridge.

The development has been proposed by Green Urban Logistics Development Corporation Limited for Site 34 on Rowan Tree Road & Elm Road, Momentum Logistics Park, Ladytown, Naas, County Kildare.

The company notably applied for planning permission last year in relation to a development worth €11 million on Site 31 at Naas Enterprise Park, Ladytown.

According to a planning permission application lodged with Kildare County Council (KCC), the company intends to construct a 'warehousing / industrial / logistics building' (approx. 18938 square metres total Ground Floor Area and 16.8m in height), which would also include: ancillary office space, reception area, lobby, circulation areas, plant, tea stations, stores, WCs and shower facilities.

Permission is also being sought for the following: 

  • The provision of 21 dock levellers and four doors on grade for loading and unloading of Heavy Goods Vehicles
  • The provision of 130 car parking spaces (including seven EV parking spaces and seven accessible parking spaces), six motorbike parking spaces and 112 secure bicycle parking spaces
  • Two new vehicular access / egress points are proposed in the form of one HGV access point via Rowan Tree Road and  one vehicular access point to the serve staff car parking areas separately via the Elm Road
  • One bin store (approx. 10.2 sqm) and one recycling store (approx. 17.2 sqm) (approx. 27.4 sqm total GFA); one ESB Substation located along Rowan Tree Road
  • One Sprinkler Tank and 1 no. Pump House associated with the proposed warehousing unit
  • An attenuation basin (approx. 2000m^3) located at the southern boundary of the site
  • The diversion of existing ESB power lines south of the proposed structure (Including a 4m wayleave);
  • Two areas on the northeastern and northwestern elevations of the proposed unit (both 2m x 10m) and one signage area on the northeastern elevation of the proposed office (1.2m x 6m) (approx. 47.2 sqm total GFA; with photo-voltaic (PV) solar panels at roof level

In addition, the company is seeking permission from KCC for all associated site development works.

These include: lighting, external plant, landscaping and engineering works.

The date received on the application is listed as July 25 last, while the submission-by and due dates are listed as August 28 and September 18 respectively.

According to the business information website vision-net.ie, Green Urban Logistics Development Corporation Ltd was set up in 2021.

It also trades as Green Urban Logistics Devco Limited and has an address listed as 32 Molesworth Street, Dublin 2, County Dublin.
