Simon Leacy opens the scoring for Naas during the AIB Leinster Club Senior Hurling Championship game against St Martins Wexford played at Cedral St Conleth's Park, Newbridge
St Martin's of Wexford are through to the semi-final of the AIB Leinster Club SHC following a well-deserved five point win over a disappointing Naas side at Cederal St Conleth's Park, Newbridge this afternoon.
In a tough game with no quarter asked or given Martin's held the upper hand from midway in the first half and while Naas hung in they trailed by four the break.
Naas got that back to two points on 35 minutes that was as close as they got to the Wexford champions.
The Wexford defence was dominant throughout and while Naas threw everything at them they never really had them under pressure.
A 56 minute penalty after Jack O'Connor was fouled saw the no. 11 fill the Naas net, the first goal the Kildare champions conceded in championship this season.
No way back after that with the Wexford champions fully deserving of their victory on a final score line of St Martin's of Wexford 1-15 Naas 0-13.
