A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise funds for a Kildare family whose home was destroyed by fire on August 17.
Launched by Ger Conway and Niamh Clarges, the duo explained they are fundraising for their friends Thomas Nolan (Thos) and Breda Fox, whose house and belongings were ruined in the blaze.
"They were very lucky to survive unharmed due to the quick actions of their neighbour, Eoin Heavey. Their thatched home was not insured," said Ger.
"Thos is known for this dedication to the rugby club community, he has been groundsman for 29 years and is always prepared to lend a helping hand, while Breda’s compassion, firstly as a nurse, and now as a Director of Nursing at Lourdesville Nursing Home, has helped enhanced the lives of many residents and their families for over 41 years."
All funds raised will go directly towards helping Thos and Breda replace essential belongings and rebuild a home.
"Thomas and Breda would like to thank everybody who has offered support and well wishes, especially Ray Behan and his crew, who were there Sunday night and all day Monday," added Ger.
So far, over €10,000 has been raised. You can click on the link here.
