Dr Clare Kambamettu has described how winning the 2010 Rose of Tralee created a "butterfly effect" which ultimately resulted in her meeting her now fiancé Ryan Tubridy.

A judge for this year's Rose of Tralee, which was won by Laois Rose Katelyn CumminsClare has detailed how participating in the festival created a butterfly effect as it launched her media career leading her to Tubridy.

Speaking on the butterfly effect, Dr Kambamettu explained: "An example of that is that I had radon testing done in my home a couple of years after the Rose of Tralee, nothing to do with it, but the radon levels were very high and the environmental protection agency at the time sent somebody to come down and do an interview with me on camera because I was a Rose of Tralee and they thought I'd be able to advocate for radon testing."

She continued: "The guy who came to do the interview happened to be somebody who worked with a production company called Earth Horizons, who made a TV series called Eco Eye."

Clare detailed to the Irish Independent that: "A few years later, I get a call out of the blue and I'm asked if I'd be interested in coming up and having a chat about presenting the show, so those kind of stream of events are things that happened, like a butterfly effect."

She credits the Rose of Tralee for causing the butterfly effect of presenting Eco Eye and credits the show's end to her meeting her now fiancé Ryan Tubridy for the first time.

On this she explained: "Then a further butterfly effect of that was Eco Eye came to an end, and I went on Ryan's radio show to talk about Eco Eye coming to an end, and that's how we met. So, there's this butterfly effect throughout life."

Following speaking on the butterfly effect of how they met, Clare has since revealed that she has purchased her wedding dress ahead of the couple's big day.

She revealed that she has purchased her gown from Cirq, a sustainable bridal boutique in Nass County Kildare.

Clare detailed that: "The (wedding) plans have all been surprisingly easy so everything is coming together. I got my dress a couple of weeks ago from a bridal boutique in Naas called Cirq."

Clare shared on her choice to purchase her dress from the eco-friendly boutique: "Jennifer, who owns Cirq, sources all her dresses from brides looking to sell or from charities. She's wonderful to work with, so I'm thrilled to have my dress sorted and just a few details left—it's all very exciting."
