Naas Roads Policing Unit recently operated multi-agency checkpoints at Monasterevin and Clane, Kildare.

A total of seven vehicles were impounded for no insurance/no certificate of road worthiness and learner driving unaccompanied.

A disqualified driver was also arrested after they were charged with no insurance, no driving licence and failing to surrender his driving licence after court conviction.

Three vehicles were detected with defective tyres which included two goods vehicles, none of which were allowed to proceed without tyres being first replaced.

One HGV was detected with defective brakes which was prohibited from use until defect was corrected.

A total of 17 Fixed Charge Penalty Notices were also issued for various other offences.
