While on patrol on the R403 at Prosperous, Kildare Naas Roads Policing Unit got an ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) alert.
The motorist in question had no tax, no insurance and no NCT.
When stopped, the driver then failed both the alcohol and drugs tests, testing positive for cocaine, cannabis, and benzodiazepines.
The driver was arrested, the car was impounded and a court appearance will follow.
