Member of An Garda Síochána (AGS) are investigating the theft of jewellery items from a County Kildare residence.
The crime was highlighted by Garda David Prendergast when he appeared as a guest on a KFM radio programme yesterday (October 15 last).
He told host Hannah Kelly that a burglary took place at a home located in the Allenview Heights region in Newbridge on the evening of Wednesday, October 8 last.
According to Gda Prendergast, a number of items of jewellery were stolen from the residence — these included: pearls, earrings, necklaces and bracelets.

In addition, a sum of cash was also stolen from the home by the perpetrator(s).
He concluded by urging anyone with information relating to this burglary to contact Newbridge Garda Station on 045 440 180.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about this incident, a spokesperson for AGS responded: "Gardaí received report of an incident of burglary that occurred on the night of October 8 last in the Allenview Heights area of Newbridge, County Kildare.
"A number of belongings were taken from the premises."
The spokesperson also said that investigations are ongoing.
