Members of the public and motorists alike looked on in fright this morning (October 16) as a bus burst into flames near the Kildare-Wicklow border.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about the blaze, a garda spokesperson replied: "Gardaí received a report of a bus on fire near Kilbride, County Wicklow on Thursday, October 16 at approximately 9.30am.

"Emergency services extinguished the fire."

They added: "No injuries were reported at the time."
