Speeding motorists blamed for danger as cars 'bounce off' Kildare road

Sallins

Speeding motorists are to blame for dangers posed at a road ramp, which leads from the main road to the Grand Canal bank in Sallins.

She was supported by Cllr Bill Clear who said speeding cars “bounce off the bottom” of the ramp road.

“Speed is not the root problem at this location,” he said in a report, adding the continued use of the link by motorists “is the matter of most importance as the structure is not fit for the purpose of carrying (these). “

He said the road severs access across the canal bridge for people with mobility difficulties because “the gradient of the crossing is not suitable for wheelchair users and elderly pedestrians.”
