Leixlip Gardaí have been busy recently tackling road traffic offences across North Kildare.
Last Saturday morning (October 18), at a MIT checkpoint, Leixlip Gardaí seized a Ford being driven by an unaccompanied learner driver — the third time this driver has had a car taken off him this year.
Later in the day in the Maynooth area, they spotted a Toyota being driven erratically. The driver tested positive for cannabis at the roadside, and a quantity of cannabis was found in the car.

He was arrested and will be facing a mandatory driving ban.
A message from Leixlip Gardaí stated: “Two more vehicles off the roads — making Kildare safer for everyone. If you’re driving, make sure you’re safe, legal and sober.
