An ice cream and confectionary company based in County Kildare has announced a massive change to its Newbridge branch.

Sundae Scoops, which also had a branch in Naas, took to social media to announce the update to its store, which is located on Cutlery Road, yesterday (November 9 last).

The company's two owners, Carl Wilson and Donal McMahon, said the Newbridge branch will close under its current name and management on Sunday, November 16, 2025.

The pair also noted that the announcement comes just over seven years since the business first opened its doors in Newbridge.

Explaining the reason behind the closure, the pair said: "Whist we juggle running the stores and maintaining our own full time jobs, it’s now the right time to focus on our families and have a work life balance.

"Thank you to everyone of you who have supported us and our staff past and present over the past seven years."

They added: "For anyone who has vouchers you can redeem them in our Naas store; look forward to seeing you all over the next week for 'one for the road'."

However, they also said that they are looking for someone interested in taking over the Naas store: "If you are that person, drop an mail outlining your experience / background [to] infosundaescoops@gmail.com."

In addition, the pair also shared some "good news".

They said: "The new owner will take over on the November 17 [2025] and continue to serve what we do, but also will also be adding some tasty new items to the menu in the coming weeks; stay tuned for details."

The identity of the new owner was not disclosed by Mr Wilson or McMahon.
