Nine people were treated on trolleys at Naas Hospital today.

Elsewhere in the eastern region, there were three patients on trolleys at Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown and none at Tallaght University Hospital.

The most overcrowded hospital in the region was the Mater which has 34 patients on trolleys, followed by St Vincent's (33).

There were no patients on trolleys at Tullamore Hospital and the figure for Portlaoise was eight.
