Even though adult life is often unpredictable and full-to-the-brim with menial (but necessary) responsibilities, one thing will always remain true: you are never too old to have the craic with comics!
An extension of a free 'Comic Picnic' event will be coming to a well-known County Kildare venue later very soon.
The regular 'Comic Picnic' exhibition is already open in the Riverbank Arts Centre in Newbridge and is aimed at children.
It debuted on November 7 last, but now, main organiser Kate Escolin has announced that an open afternoon — one aimed specifically at adults — will take place later this week.
According to Ms Escolin, who is the Creative Director of Beag Animations and who also sits on the Dublin Comic Arts Committee, the 'Comic Picnic' will serve as "a colourful and playful comic exhibition serving up a feast of fun".

For the upcoming event, Ms Escolin invites attendees to "sprawl out on a picnic blanket" and enjoy the world of comics crafted by her very own hands.
"From cute characters to sun-soaked comic panels, this exhibition is a celebration of comics, creativity, and the simple pleasure of sharing a good laugh," Ms Escolin asserted. "There is something delightful for everyone at the 'Comic Picnic'."
The 'Comic Picnic' for adults will take place in the Children's Gallery of the Riverbank Arts Centre this Saturday, November 15, 2025.
It will commence at 1pm and conclude at 2.30pm.
