GOAL thanks Kildare schools for Jersey Day 2025 participation

GOAL Jersey Day took place on Friday, October 10 2025

Eighteen schools across Kildare have been thanked by GOAL for their recent participation in Jersey Day 2025, proudly supported by Premier Sports.

The schools' incredible support is helping GOAL deliver life-saving humanitarian aid to some of the world's most vulnerable communities across Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.

This year, schools such as Maynooth Community College and Patrician Secondary School joined thousands across Ireland in wearing their favourite jerseys, whether for their local GAA club, county team, or national side, to raise funds and awareness for GOAL’s global humanitarian mission.

To date, schools participating in Jersey Day 2025 have raised €111,500, while businesses have contributed €43,300.

These funds will go directly towards GOAL’s programmes providing food, clean water, shelter, and essential services in crisis-affected regions.

Speaking about the success of Jersey Day, Nafisa Brennan, GOAL’s Senior Fundraising Manager, said: “Every year, Jersey Day offers an opportunity for all those who participate to wear their colours with pride while fostering a sense of camaraderie in school or in the workplace. By doing so, they play a vital role in supporting GOAL’s mission to help some of the world’s most vulnerable communities move from extreme crisis to resilience, where everyone has equal rights and opportunities.

“We have loved seeing children in schools and those in their workplace choose their county colours, their favourite soccer or rugby club, or even their national jersey, and contribute to support vulnerable communities in Sudan, Ethiopia, Haiti and Gaza and other crisis-affected regions.”

Jersey Day is one of GOAL’s flagship fundraisers and is proudly supported by Premier Sports, one of Ireland's leading sports broadcasters, offering live coverage of Premier League and European football, URC Rugby and more.
