The attempted theft of two separate vehicles, which were both parked in a County Kildare village, has resulted in a garda investigation.

The incidents were highlighted on KFM on Wednesday, December 17 last by a member of An Garda Síochana (AGS) who appeared as a guest on one of the station's programmes.

Garda Sarah O'Sullivan explained that in the early hours of Saturday, December 13 last, two attempted car thefts were reported separately in Kill.

According to Gda O'Sullivan, criminal damage was caused to both vehicles (which were parked in separate estates).

She concluded by urging anyone with information relating to either one or both of these crimes to contact Naas Garda Station on 045 884 300.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about the two incidents, a spokesperson for AGS had this to say about one of them: "Gardaí are investigating a criminal damage incident caused to a vehicle in Kill, County Kildare, on December 13 last that occurred at approximately 5am."

They added that the investigation into this crime is ongoing.

The spokesperson did not provide any information about the second incident.
