Kildare school applies for construction of €627k classroom building

Scoil Uí Riada, Kilcock, Co Kildare has applied to Kildare County Council for planning permission to construct a €627k classroom building on its premises.

The school is addressed at Brayton Park Road, Kilcock W23 KNW8, Co Kildare.

According to Construction Information Services (CIS), planning application number 2561384 was submitted to the local authority for consideration on December 4 2025.

The Board of Management of Scoil Uí Riada intends to seek planning permission within the site of Scoil Uí Riada, Brayton Park, Kilcock, Co. Kildare.

The development will include the removal of three temporary single storey units;
(1) a single storey prefabricated (classroom) building, 112m²;
(2) a single storey prefabricated (classroom) building, 174m²;
(3) a single storey prefabricated storage room, 33m²;
(4) and the construction of a single storey 489m² building to the east of the existing school building.

The new accommodation will house a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Unit with two classrooms, together with a central activity space, daily living skills, an office, two quiet areas, toilets and other associated spaces.

The proposed extension will be connected to the eastern wing of the existing school.

External works will include the relocation of one disabled parking space, the conversion of three existing standard parking spaces to dedicated Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging spaces, and the conversion of one disabled accessible parking space to an accessible EV space.

The project also includes associated landscaping, heat pump condensate, drainage, rain garden, and all associated site works.

The architect for the development is Demesne Architects Limited.
