An Garda Síochána Kildare–Carlow Division are taking part in a 24-hour nationwide speed-enforcement operation (Tuesday, December 23 2025 - 7am to Wednesday, December 24 2025 - 7am).

With heavy Christmas travel underway, this operation aims to:

  • Prevent speed-related collisions

  • Encourage safer driving

  • Raise awareness of road safety risks

The Christmas period brings a higher risk of fatal and serious collisions, so enforcement is increased, including checkpoints and speed-camera activity, as part of wider holiday road-safety campaigns.

A message from An Garda Síochána Kildare said: “Please slow down and take extra care on the roads. Slow down. Arrive alive.”
