Man in Kildare court for allegedly taking a packet of crisps

The incident reportedly took place at an outlet in north Kildare

A 35 year old man has appeared before Naas District Court on an allegation of stealing a packet of crisps worth €1.70.

Before Naas District Court was Lukas Malkowski, whose address was given as 17A Main Street, Celbridge. He allegedly took the crisps at the Londis, Main Street, Maynooth, on February 19, 2025.

He’s also facing prosecution for allegedly taking a Galaxy Tablet on the same date at The Avenue restaurant, Main Street, Maynooth, and he is also facing an allegation of assault at Main Street, Maynooth.

Sgt Dave Hanrahan said it will be alleged that  the defendant went behind the counter before taking the laptop at the restaurant. He said the crisps were taken from a Centra store.

Judge Desmond Zaidan adjourned the case to June 3.
