Naas Roads Policing Unit were on patrol in Newbridge, Co Kildare this week, where two vehicles were seized for serious road traffic offences.
A high-powered KuKirin G4 e-scooter was seized by gardai. This e-scooter is not road legal, and according to gardai, “has no place on our public roads.”
The vehicle was seized immediately.
Gardai also seized a 1300cc motorcycle, which was being ridden by a learner permit holder who was carrying a pillion passenger.
The rider was found to have no valid tax or insurance.
Both vehicles were impounded
Impound fees were levied
Fixed Charge Penalty Notices (FCPNs) were issued
Court proceedings for no insurance

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána Kildare noted: “These offences put lives at risk — not just the rider, but passengers and other road users.
“We will continue to enforce the law and take firm action against anyone who ignores road safety regulations.
“Road safety is everyone’s responsibility.”
