Meanwhile, a Kilkenny EuroMillions player was thrilled to visit the Winners Room this week to collect their Match 5 prize from the 12th December draw worth €30,745. Their winning ticket was purchased at Kitty’s Cabin on Rose Inn Street in Kilkenny.
The Kilkenny man popped into the Rose Inn Street shop for a coffee when he decided to purchase a ticket for the Friday night draw.
“It was a few days before I even scanned the ticket and I was in complete shock when I realised what I won. I immediately put the ticket in a cupboard and then rechecked it the next day to make sure it was real and that I didn’t completely imagine it. The first thing I plan to do is book a holiday – that will definitely brighten up January! I am also looking forward to planning a few home renovations too.”
A Dublin syndicate were delighted to claim their unexpected windfall worth €36,287, which they won in the 7th January draw after matching five numbers and the bonus in the midweek Lotto draw. The winning ticket was purchased at the Eason store in the Omni Shopping Centre in Santry, Dublin 9.
“When I got the message ‘You’ve won Big’ after scanning the ticket, I immediately rang Claims. I had no idea how much I could have won. I was thinking it was probably €500 or €1,000. When I heard the amount, I couldn’t believe it. I put the ticket in a jacket where I knew no one would look. I didn’t tell any of the other syndicate members where it was though – maybe next time, I should! I think a celebratory lunch will be the first thing we do!”
A Laois man got a huge surprise after matching five numbers and the bonus in Saturday’s Lotto draw to win €49,071. The winning ticket was purchased at the Tuthills store in Laois Shopping Centre in Portlaoise.
