Father and son in Kildare court after €8,000 worth of damage allegedly caused to vehicle

A father and son made an appearance at Naas District Court after €8,000 worth of damage was allegedly caused to a car.

Paul Smithers senior, 42, 20 The Shroughaun, Tullow, Co Carlow and his son Paul junior, 22, of the same address appeared before the court.

Sgt Dave Hanrahan told the court that the case related to alleged damage to a vehicle at Calverstown Little, Kilcullen, on March 10, 2024.

The court heard the injured party in the case is an ex of a relative of the two defendants.

Judge Desmond Zaidan sent the case forward for trial to Naas Circuit Court.

He said that if an alibi forms any part of the defence the prosecution in the case must be given notice of this.
