Naas Roads Policing Unit recently conducted a multi-agency checkpoint on the R148 at Ballinadrumney, North Kildare.
One motorist was detected driving while disqualified. They were arrested, charged, and will appear before the courts shortly.
A second motorist, who attempted to turn away from the checkpoint, was stopped a short distance away.
Checks revealed the vehicle was:
Uninsured
Untaxed
No valid CVRT
In a dangerous state of repair
The vehicle was seized, and court proceedings have been initiated.
A Garda spokesperson stated: “Let this be a warning: if you choose to drive while disqualified, uninsured, or in an unroadworthy vehicle, you are putting lives at risk — including your own.
“Checkpoints save lives. Enforcement prevents tragedy.
“There are no excuses and no shortcuts when it comes to road safety. Slow down. Stay legal. Get home safe.”
