A man in his 50s has died after being struck by a car in an early-morning crash in County Kildare.
Gardaí confirmed that emergency services were called to the scene of the fatal incident in the Mylerstown area of Robertstown, Co. Kildare, at approximately 5.25am on Saturday.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene, and his body has since been removed to hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
No other injuries were reported.
The road remains preserved this morning to allow Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to carry out a technical examination, with investigations ongoing.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
Road users who were travelling in the area between 5.00am and 5.45am, particularly those with dash-cam or other camera footage, are asked to make it available to investigators.
