This Kildare estate needs an action plan after 'after repeated flooding'

Moves to enhance road safety in Sallins near site of tragic road fatality

Action should be taken to offset the risk of flooding at a residential area in Sallins.

Kildare County Council has been asked to prepare and implement a "clear flood mitigation plan" for people living in the Sallins Pier, residential area.

Cllr Bill Clear says the road as well as property entrances have been repeatedly flooded in recent years.

He believes that the drainage network needs to be cleared and a channel built to divert water towards the canal. He ahs also suggested the construction of an attenuation pond. he said the work should be done even if the estate hasn't been formally taken in charge.
