Animal rescue group Kildare Wildlife Rescue (KWR) has announced that it will host a First Response education event soon.
However, KWR also warned that tickets for the session are selling out fast.
It follows after KWR issued an emergency fundraiser for its help desk earlier this week.

KWR prefaced its explanation of the upcoming event by asking: "Have you ever wondered what to do when you see injured or sick wildlife? Have you ever seen oil spills, floods or pollution events and wanted to help but didn't know where to start?
"Kildare Wildlife Rescue is launching a new training event to get like-minded people together to become part of a nationwide troop who know how to help wildlife."
According to KWR, the session is open to everyone, but participants "should be active and competent in the outdoors" — "Hikers, wild swimmers, beach clean up crews, and people who are in nature are ideal candidates," KWR added.
The event will take place at the Parish Centre in Portlaoise, County Laois on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
It will begin at 10am and conclude at 5pm.
Booking via Eventbrite.

BRIEF BACKGROUND
KWR was established in early 2022.
It later acquired its own centre in July of that same year — this centre is divided into a number of areas and pens, which are specially designated for a different type of wild animal.
Dan Donoher, who is known for his previous work with Kildare Animal Foundation, currently acts as the manager of KWR.
KWR is a registered charity.
