A new €7.6m housing development has been planned for Kilcock, Co Kildare.
A planning application was submitted to Kildare County Council on March 26 2026.
According to Construction Information Services, this was with respect to the construction of 39 new residential homes addressed at “Site to the South of Connaught Street, East of the Rye Abbey Housing Estate, West of the Ledwill Park development, Kilcock, Co. Kildare.”
The scheme involves the proposed demolition of a habitable housing uint, and the construction of 39 residential homes.
The proposed development includes the following:
4 no. 1-bedroom maisonettes;
3 no. 2-bedroom later living units;
16 no. 2-bedroom houses; and
16 no. 3-bedroom houses.

There are to be 42 car parking spaces and eight bicycle spaces provided in the development, as well as the provision of 1,300 sqm of public open space.
There is also to be provision of two pocket parks measuring 600sqm in total.
Vehicular, pedestrian, and cycle access will be provided via a new entrance from Connaught Street. Minor works are proposed along the site frontage towards Connaught Street to maintain the existing 5.0 m carriageway width, using road markings that match and follow the current markings on Connaught Street to facilitate safe vehicular movement.
All associated and ancillary infrastructure (including surface water and foul water drainage and water supply), internal streets, public lighting, landscaping, boundary treatments, and development works are also included in the application.
The application includes a Natura Impact Statement (NIS).
