A North Kildare Labour councillor has welcomed news that Kildare Fire Service has just introduced new high-performance firefighting PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to the service.

Posting recently on social media, Cllr Feeney wrote: “I welcome the news today that Kildare County Council has officially launched new high performance firefighting personal protective equipment (PPE) for Kildare Fire Service, marking a significant investment in firefighter safety and operational effectiveness.

“The new PPE is being supplied by High Precision Motor Products (HPMP) in partnership with S Gard, one of Europe’s largest and longest established manufacturers of firefighting clothing.”

According to Cllr Feeney, Kildare Fire Service is the first fire service in Ireland to award a contract to HPMP Fire and S Gard, following an extensive public tender process.
