Pedestrian crossing needed in Kildare village because motorists 'won't use main road'

A crossing is needed on the main street in Kill because of the growth in traffic levels passing through.

Local councillor Fintan Brett wants Kildare County Council to prioritise the creation of a "low cost crossing" close to the junction with Hartwell Road.

He said this is needed for children and wheelchair users crossing the very busy road.

He said the increase in traffic is caused by motorists due to the number of drivers using the route to avoid the nearby N7.
