Works have commenced on a €1.8m extension to the Glenroyal Hotel, Maynooth, addressed at Straffan Road, Maynooth W23 W2K7, Co. Kildare.
Construction Information Services (CIS) reports that work commenced on the hotel on April 13 2026, with an estimated finish date of April 12 2027.
Works have commenced on site for the construction of an additional 16 bedrooms, two new lift shafts and two new stairwells, a caretaker's unit and all associated works at 3rd floor level at the Glenroyal Hotel, Maynooth.
According to CIS, planning approval was granted in April 2023 after the original approval decision was appealed.

Approval allows for the construction of an additional 16 guest bedrooms (690 sq.m) at third floor level located above the leisure centre of the existing hotel including two lift shafts and two stairwells to serve the proposed new third floor and all associated site works.
The promoter of the development is Authorized Property Company Limited, working with architect Duignan and Dooley Architects and Planning Consultants.
The main contractor is Montane Developments.
