Kildare County Council’s Winter Maintenance Plan commenced on 17th October 2022 and weather conditions are monitored on a 24/7 basis. Our depots are currently fully stocked with salt and we re-stock on a continuous basis over the duration of the winter plan. It has plant, equipment and crews available to respond as required.
Kildare County Council has 10 key routes identified for salting throughout the County. Salting took place on each route at 9.00am this morning (Dec 9th), a second run is scheduled for 7.00pm this evening and a third run will commence at 3.00am on December 10th. We will continuously monitor weather conditions over the weekend period.
All road users are urged to drive with extreme caution and to be aware of the dangers posed by these adverse conditions. Pedestrians are advised to take extra care and be aware of icy conditions.
