16-year-old Ava Kelly found success at the National Youth Awards 2023.
According to the Naas No Name Club (NNC), the award is 'a celebration of young people, their positive contributions to their community, their uniqueness and their attitude towards participating socially without alcohol or drugs.'
Seán Moloney of the Kilkenny NNC also won on the night.
Ava, who is a student at Naas Community College, and Seán, of St Kierans College in Kilkenny, have now secured bursaries towards third-level education.
Commenting on Ava's success, Naas NNC said: "All of us here in Naas No Name Club just want to say the biggest congratulations to our very own Ava Kelly and Seán Moloney.
"Congratulations to all the other finalists also; you’re all a credit to your clubs."
The group added: "It's our second ever winner: our first was Amy Mullen, from St Mary's College won in 2021."
Naas NNC meets at Naas Rugby Club on Wednesday nights.
Applications for TY students and Sixth Year Youth Leaders will open in August through its social media pages.
It supports young people to develop social confidence and participate in their community in a safe space, free from peer pressure around alcohol or other drugs.
