KILDARE: Installation of two bins at Donadea Forest Park is welcomed

The installation of two litter bins at Donadea Forest Park by Coillte has been welcomed.

Aontú Rep for Clane LEA, Una O’Connor said she is delighted by the action by Coillte, who is charged with managing and looking after the 640 acre forest park.

But Ms O'Connor added that the bins must be emptied on a regular basis otherwise they will defeat their purpose.

The campaigner said: “It is not acceptable that the bins are allowed to overflow, it is totally self defeating. This is a busy spot.

"There are 300 car parking spaces here and on good days Donadea is absolutely packed.

"People are paying €5 in and we are delighted that they now have litter bins but they must be fit for purpose!”

“In the main people are conscious of leaving no trace but they need this inherent good citizenry to be backed up with adequate and suitable facilities that are  actually fit for purpose ”.
