TRAFFIC: Section of M9 motorway closed in south Kildare due to crash

A collision on the M9 between Castledermot and Carlow has resulted in a temporary full closure of that section of the motorway. 

The incident happened around 11am on the northbound lane between Junction 5 and Junction 4. 

A full closure in both directions was immediately put in place.

Motorists were advised to drive with care in the area. 

Emergency services rushed to the scene near Tinryland. 

It's understood that two HGVs were involved in the collision and their drivers have been taken to hospital.
